WHAT IS CASHL?
CASHL is the acronym for China Academic Humanities and Social Sciences Library. As a unique foreign periodical resource security system for humanities and social sciences nationwide, it is established by facilitating the Chinese Ministry of Education, for the purpose of the development of the humanities and social science and broadening information resources in colleges and universities as well.
First-time users of CASHL are expected to follow these steps:
Create a user account
First-time users should log in CASHL website and click "registration for CASHL express-users" in the top right corner. Use your University card number as the identification number. Choose "Peking University Library" as your library.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your registration.
Submitting a request
Before making a request from CASHL interlibrary loan(ILL) service, please log in CASHL website and check the online catalog to make sure the items you need are not held by any PKU libraries.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY REQUESTED ILL ITEMS ARRIVE?
· For documentary delivery requests:
If an electronic document is available, it will be sent to you in the delivery email with a link to the article. Click on the link to download and open the document.
· For interlibrary loan requests:
If ILL items are available, you will receive an email or call notifying you of the pickup location. Please return the library items at the ILL Center.
The loan quota is 5 items every time. The loan period is 15 days in general and users must return the items before it is overdue.
Photocopy Charge: ¥0.3 per page (including photocopying & scanning)
Urgent Charge: ¥10 added per article
Loan Charge: ¥40 per book
