Dissertation Database Introduction

1. Peking University Dissertation Repository mainly collects all the dissertations after 2003 and some dissertation titles and full texts from 1985 to 2003.

 

2. For printed dissertations, please go to the Special Collections Reading Room(in the South Reading Room on the fourth floor of the East Building). This reading room contains all the doctoral and master's dissertations of Peking University since 1981.

 

3. Special Notes:

* Discrepancy between electronic and printed dissertations: if there is an electronic version of the dissertation but no printed version in the reading room, the printed version of the dissertation may be in the process of binding (usually for the dissertation of the current year);

* Some dissertations after 2007 do not have full text, these are considered delayed releases and will gradually become available after 1 to 3 years, based on authorization. If you wish to check it, you can go to the Special Collections Reading Room.

Rules and Regulations

Rules for Reading and Copying Dissertations in Peking University Library:

1. Peking University Dissertations and postdoctoral research reports are unofficial publications. The library provides online full-text reading service, and the Special Collections Reading Room offers indoor reading without lending.

2、At the request of the author, the dissertation and postdoctoral report should not be copied, photographed or scanned under normal circumstances.

3. If you need to copy the thesis under special circumstances, you must obtain the consent of the thesis author and provide valid identification. If you entrust someone else, you need to hand in a power of attorney and a copy of your own identification.

4. Excellent bachelor's theses and abstract compilations of postgraduate dissertations stored in the Special Collections Reading Room can be copied.

5. Copying dissertations requires a library card or reading license and is restricted in the library.
