Course Reserved Books Service

Integrating library digital processing project and book recommendation system, meeting the basic demand of course construction, this service provides teachers with the functions such as library e-resource appointment and self-owned digital resource upload, while also provides students who selected the course with functions such as online access, reading and labeling on references of the course.


Teachers can apply for using current library resources as the references for the course, and libraries will scan the references within 10-15 working days and upload them to the system for the use of teaching; teachers can also upload the self-owned documents or online resource links as the references for teaching. Besides, related books can be recommended to teachers via the book recommendation system. In the meantime, students can view and read the references of courses selected in the system and make a comment. Furthermore, students can add self-owned references for the courses selected and share them with other classmates.


The service is limited to Peking University IP Addresses. Designed to facilitate teaching and research in the university, it is strictly prohibited for commercial use. Electronic database will continue to improve and update in time, faculties and students are welcome to use it. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact us!

1. Information Literacy Education Integrated to Curriculum


The Library has been continually promoting information literacy education integrate into compus teaching and research activities. The lectures are usually tailored for various majors, courses or research topics by librarians working closely with faculties, and have received wide praises from faculties and students. 2. Integrating Special Collection Resource Services into Departmental Courses


The Special Collection Service Center not only holds valuable and rich literature closely related to teaching and research, but also have staff familiar with the printed documents and the use of digital resources. Therefore, the Center actively collaborates with departments by integrating Special Collections resources into relevant courses. This allows students to learn more about the Special Collection and how to use digital resources, while promoting the utilization of relevant literature and providing support for learning and research. Over the years, the Center has integrated into various courses. In the course "Literature Resource Development"  taught by Professor Zhang Jiuzhen of the Department of Information Management at Peking University, the center introduced "the collection and service of special literatures",; In the course "Chinese Reference Works", taught by Professor Xu Hongxia of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University, the center introduced "how to use library resources". The integration of these two courses is rather popular among teachers and students, and has also achieved great success.

3. Ancient Documents Contributed to Teaching and Research


The ancient book resource service center of the library has actively cooperated with colleges and departments to vigorously promote the teaching and research activities of ancient documents. Teachers with relevant needs are welcome to contact the Ancient Books Center.
